Who Searches This From Shirur

Businesses operating in the MIDC belt and along the highway corridor seek this funding. The search comes from existing limit holders looking for expansion and fresh project seekers establishing new facilities. The local industrial ecosystem supports manufacturing, trading and small processing units that need capital to run or scale operations without pledging the family property.

What A Credit Desk Examines

The lender reviews the turnover trend and compares the goods and services tax returns against the bank statement. The desk assesses the stock and debtor pattern for a working capital ask, or the project viability and repayment capacity for a term loan. Operating history, existing exposure elsewhere and the size band of the enterprise play a role in the assessment. Sizing the limit follows turnover multiples for working capital or debt service capacity for a term loan, and the guarantee cover changes what the lender can sanction without asking for hard collateral, within the rules that govern that cover.

Why Files Fail

Applications stall when the paperwork does not match the ground reality: goods and services tax returns understate what the bank statement shows, stock statements are missing or stale, or the promoter has an existing account with irregularities, a settlement, or a running limit elsewhere that was never disclosed. A lender that finds an undisclosed fact, whether about ownership, another unit, or a partner’s location, loses confidence in the whole file, and no guarantee cover fixes that. Weak or inconsistent financials, and a project report that does not connect to the goods and services tax and bank numbers, are the other common reasons a collateral free request gets converted into a collateral demand.

Review Before Approaching A Bank

Credit Core Finance reviews the existing banking relationship and financial papers before approaching any lender, and structures the proposal to show the business case clearly against the correct guarantee route. The goods and services tax returns, turnover figures and bank statement data are aligned so that turnover, tax filings and bank numbers agree before a credit manager ever sees the file.

Personally Coordinate Valuer And Bank Visits

Steps that only a client-facing advisor can push, such as property valuation coordination or bank visits, do not resolve themselves while sitting in a queue. Credit Core Finance coordinates valuer or bank visits personally where needed rather than leaving them to chance, because leaving them unattended is how a sanction gets stuck behind an unresolved step.

Negotiate The Security Structure

When a lender asks for a hard-collateral share that would push the client’s working capital into buying property, that demand is not simply accepted. Credit Core Finance negotiates the security structure directly with the lender, for instance holding the property through a company and blending it with guarantee cover, which protects the client’s cash flow and the viability of the case.

Stay Point Of Contact

Through the sanction process, Credit Core Finance stays the point of contact with the lender so the client is not drawn into direct pressure on the banker. Even when a client presses repeatedly on a pending payout, the escalation is carried out by speaking to the lender directly; the lender’s direct contact is never handed to the client as a pressure tool.

Explain Outcomes Honestly

Terms, interest and the repayment structure are explained clearly before any document is signed, not after delivery. A valuation or loan amount figure is never quoted to the client before it is confirmed by a professional valuer or the bank, since a gap between a quoted figure and the real number breaks trust quickly. Facts about partner location, ownership or any other material detail are shared with the lender as asked; where there is doubt, the question is put to the lender directly and resolved through structure, not through concealment.

The trust provides a guarantee to the lender, absorbing a major portion of the risk if the business fails to repay the loan.

Who Qualifies as an MSME in Shirur?

Eligibility depends on the official size thresholds set by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. According to S.O. 1364(E) dated 21-Mar-2025, effective 01-Apr-2025, a micro enterprise has investment up to ₹2.5 crore and turnover up to ₹10 crore. A small enterprise has investment up to ₹25 crore and turnover up to ₹100 crore. A medium enterprise has investment up to ₹125 crore and turnover up to ₹500 crore. The official notification is available at MSME classification notification, Ministry of MSME. Medium enterprises fall outside the scheme. Retail and wholesale trade are eligible at par, effective 01-Dec-2022 under Circular 210/2022-23. Credit Core Finance works within a ticket band of ₹1 crore to ₹10 crore, and this page is written for businesses already operating at that scale.

Loan Types and Limits Under CGTMSE Today

The scheme covers term loans and working capital facilities. This is detailed in Circular 250/2024-25, effective 01-Apr-2025. Non-banking financial companies sit under CGS-II with a ceiling of ₹500 lakh, not under CGS-I. Sanctioned amounts, interest rates, margins, tenor and security documentation are decided by each lender’s Board-approved credit policy and the borrower’s risk and viability. The scheme ceiling is not an entitlement. Businesses structuring this kind of proposal often work with a CGTMSE loan consultant in Pune for lender-specific structuring.

Guarantee Cover by Borrower Category

The trust compensates the lender for a specific percentage of the default amount. The standard cover is 75 percent. A 90 percent cover band applies as a combined category for women entrepreneurs and micro and small enterprises promoted by Agniveers. An 85 percent cover band applies to six limbs: SC/ST entrepreneurs, aspirational-district MSEs, ZED-certified MSEs, persons with disability, micro enterprises for facilities up to ₹5 lakh, and transgender-promoted MSEs. For the North Eastern Region, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, the cover is 80 percent up to ₹50 lakh and 75 percent above that amount. Credit-deficient districts receive an additional 5 percentage points over the otherwise applicable cover, as per Circular 231/2023-24. The list of these districts is maintained by the Reserve Bank of India.

Borrower CategoryGuarantee Cover Percentage
Standard Category75%
Women Entrepreneurs / MSEs promoted by Agniveers90%
SC/ST, Aspirational District, ZED, PwD, Micro up to ₹5 lakh, Transgender85%
NER, J&K, Ladakh (up to ₹50 lakh)80%
NER, J&K, Ladakh (above ₹50 lakh)75%

This structure means the lender carries less risk for specific borrower categories, which shapes how the credit desk prices and appraises the file.

Annual Guarantee Fee and Other Costs

The trust charges an annual guarantee fee to maintain the cover. According to Circular 251/2024-25, effective for guarantees approved or renewed on or after 01-Apr-2025, the standard slab rates are 0.37, 0.55, 0.60, 0.85, 1.00, 1.10, and 1.20 percent per annum. Beyond the published standard slabs, the risk premium is set at the lending institution level, not the borrower level, per the trust’s framework and the lender’s risk classification. Under Clause 8.3 of the scheme document, the fee is inclusive of applicable goods and services tax.

Illustrative example

For a loan of ₹1,00,00,000 falling under the 1.00 percent standard slab, the annual guarantee fee works out to ₹1,00,000. This is an illustration using a round number and a standard slab; the actual fee depends on the specific lender’s risk premium and the exact sanctioned amount.

Security, Personal Guarantee and Hybrid Structures

Under Clause 5(vi) of the scheme document, a hybrid security model is permitted. The lender may take collateral for a part of the loan. The unsecured part can be covered by the trust up to the applicable ceiling. The trust takes a notional second charge on the collateral.

In our files, hybrid structures work when collateral is limited; part of a limit is backed by property or deposits and the rest by CGTMSE cover, as in a ₹5 crore line we arranged split roughly half and half. We see that guarantee cover does not travel with an account; when a limit moves to a new lender, the new lender assesses the case afresh and applies for its own cover. Whether to obtain a promoter’s personal guarantee and how much collateral to take under hybrid security are governed by the lender’s credit policy and legal risk assessment. The scheme is silent on a personal guarantee mandate.

The Reserve Bank of India mandates that scheduled commercial banks, excluding regional rural banks, must not take collateral for MSE loans up to ₹20 lakh. This is stated in the Master Direction – Lending to MSME Sector, updated 09-Feb-2026, para 4.1(1), effective for loans sanctioned or renewed on or after 01-Apr-2026. A ₹25 lakh collateral-free limit remains discretionary under para 4.1(2), not an entitlement.

The Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises operates a scheme to back business loans without collateral. The standard slab rates are 0.37, 0.55, 0.60, 0.85, 1.00, 1.10, and 1.20 percent per annum. Under Clause 8.3, the fee is inclusive of applicable goods and services tax. The exact fee depends on the standard slab and the risk premium set at the lending institution level.

What documents are needed for a CGTMSE loan in Maharashtra?

Document checklists vary by lender, entity type and facility. Expect to provide know-your-customer records, ownership deeds, financial statements and compliance proofs as per the lender’s policy. The scheme does not prescribe a standard borrower document checklist.

Is personal guarantee required if the loan is collateral free?

Whether to obtain a promoter’s personal guarantee is governed by the lender’s credit policy and legal risk assessment. The scheme is silent on a personal guarantee mandate.

What happens if I default on a CGTMSE loan, when can the guarantee be invoked?

The guarantee runs between the trust and the lender, not as a waiver for the borrower. If a default occurs, the lender initiates recovery proceedings and files a claim with the trust. There is no automatic collateral release if cover is added later.
